Tesla CEO Elon Musk planned to sell it to Apple Inc. in the most difficult times for the company. But CEO Tim Cook turned down the offer. This information was posted by Elon on his Twitter.
He wrote, "On the darkest days of the Model 3 program, I reached out to Tim Cook to discuss Apple's acquisition of Tesla, at 1 / 10th of our current value. He declined."
Musk noted that Apple plans to launch an "electric car" using lithium-iron phosphate batteries, which Tesla currently uses in its cars.
The authors of "Fortune" after the inclusion of Tesla in the S & P 500 stock index made Elon Musk the second richest man in the world. Thus, Musk moved Bill Gates to 3rd place and took an honorable second place in the ranking.
