Incredibly influential and world-famous company Apple, whose technology has made a real revolution in the industry, today in the minds of most associated exclusively with Steve Jobs. Far fewer people know that the company's inception as a world leader could not have happened if Jobs had not been accompanied by his loyal ally and companion, the gifted engineer Steve Wozniak. His contribution allowed Apple to strengthen its position in the market and set the vector for further development.

Biography of Steve Wozniak

Stephen Wozniak was born in San Jose, California, but his family tree has Ukrainian, Polish and German roots. The engineer's father, Jacob Francis Wozniak, was also born in the United States, in Los Angeles, and his parents were directly of Ukrainian descent. They spent a long period of their lives in Bukovina, and then immigrated to the United States, shortly after the war. Steve's mother, Margaret Elaine Kern, was half German, half Swiss.

It was his father who had a special influence on the formation of Steve as a person, which was a decisive factor in choosing his future life path. Wozniak Sr. was educated at Caltech (California Institute of Technology) and later developed missile guidance systems at Lockheed. Often coming to work with his father, Steve played with details from an early age and watched the process with genuine interest, which influenced the formation of his love of electronics.

The environment in which little Voz grew up, as his relatives and friends called him, allowed him to show outstanding results from school. In fourth grade, Steve already won a radio amateur's license, and a few years later won the grand prize in a city competition organized by the BBC. The award was received for creating a complex calculator that used a binary number system. Thanks to this invention, the young Steve was able to bypass many older and more experienced competitors.

Of course, this passion influenced his personal life at a young age, because when his peers were actively having fun at parties and going on dates, Voz sat on circuit boards, which undoubtedly affected the formation of a somewhat separate way of life. However, it is likely that such perseverance and love for his own business allowed him to become who we know him now.

Back in school, Steve learned the Fortran programming language and then entered the University of Colorado, but due to lack of funds to pay for tuition, he had to leave it. He also dropped out of the Cupertino College de Ansa, but received a bachelor's degree after graduating from the University of California in 1986, 11 years later.
